The End Of Chores Lists

We’ve all seen chore lists. Either we were the one’s creating them or the ones enlisted with doing the task. At home or at work they are a fact of life. No one is particularly fond of them but they exist none the less.

I am here to put an end to lists. The work still has to be done but it can be accomplished with better results and will reveal a person’s character at the same time. If you can’t handle a vacuum cleaner don’t expect to go far in this world.

How does this work, you ask? Each person in the group takes it upon themselves to do what needs to be done when they see it. A scrap of paper on the floor, a towel that missed the hamper or the dreaded sink full of dishes to wash.

If you’re not going to wash the dishes, at lest rinse an stack so the next person doesn’t have dried egg to scrub off. And IF it’s practiced by everyone then no one’s labor would ever be too hard. It’s a big IF isn’t it?

The point of this self motivated approach is to reveal and develop character. Everything flows from character. Some of the most admired men and women of the day have listed a strong work ethic as key to success.

I know you’re thinking that this is not going to happen. Waiting for the other person to do the hard or unpleasant task leads to complacency and laziness. The lazy person defers the work to others but ends up holding and empty bag.

Neatness does count
